On May 12th, 2008, there was a very big earthquake in south western China. It made 68,712 people died, 17,921 people were missing and more than 374,000 people were injured. At least 15 million people were being displaced from their houses. In those numbers, there were more than 5 thousand students dead or missing. The tremors of the earthquake went as far as Bangkok, Thailand and Hanoi, Viet Nam. On May 13th, 2009, China had marked the first anniversary of the earthquake that had made China into a disaster last year.
